About IPSD: Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary: As the Facilities Engineering Manager, you will lead both the strategic direction and day-to-day execution of facility and process maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring high equipment reliability, efficient facility performance, and cost-effective maintenance operations. You will oversee indirect inventory procurement, vendor partnerships, and contract management, ensuring alignment with business, safety, and financial objectives.

Requirements

  • Understanding of the importance of inter-team collaboration in breaking down silos and achieving business results; ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate in solving problems as one team.
  • Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
  • Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.

Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as uptime, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance cost; drive continuous improvement actions
  • Oversee all facility systems (HVAC, utilities, electrical, mechanical, infrastructure) ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation
  • Evaluate facility and process performance; identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement or capital investment
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing maintenance and facilities team; implement training programs and standard work practices while providing day-to-day leadership to ensure execution of maintenance plans, rapid issue resolution, and consistent operational support
  • Manage indirect inventory procurement (including MRO materials) by optimizing inventory levels, reducing excess, and ensuring availability of critical parts
  • Partner with supply chain, finance, and cross-functional teams to align procurement and maintenance priorities with business objectives
  • Drive a culture of accountability, reliability, and continuous improvement across the organization
