About Large Power Systems Division (LPSD): We design and manufacture the most comprehensive lineup of large diesel and natural gas engines in the industry, as well as engine components and powertrains. Job Summary: The Facilities Engineer plays a key role in supporting the reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Hodges facility. This position is responsible for identifying and documenting capital equipment within the CMMS system, developing preventive maintenance (PM) programs for building and utility equipment, and managing the process for identifying and stocking critical spare parts. The role also supports annual and assigned capital projects, facility and grounds upkeep, and the effective management of maintenance-related expenses. Working closely with Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and EHS teams, the Facilities Engineer will coordinate maintenance planning activities, support work order management, order spare parts, establish maintenance requirements for all building support / production equipment and lead assigned projects through the full project lifecycle. Additional responsibilities include managing purchasing processes, including purchase order creation and invoice approvals, while ensuring facility support requirements are met for new and existing equipment installations. Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.

  • Basic knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Basic knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Basic knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
  • Knowledge of CMMS with understanding of planning functions
  • Understands parts ordering, Creating Purchase Orders, Budgets, maintenance cost structures
  • Understands project management disciplines, quoting, contractor management and project life cycle

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of technical concepts to include hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial electrical, electrical controls, mechanical, print or schematic reading skills, plc’s, along with other technical fundamentals.
  • Organizational skills for project management and problem solving
  • Mentoring maintenance technician teams
  • Excellent communication and computer skills such as all Office 365

Responsibilities

  • Manages and displays competencies with Building Auxiliary equipment which can include compressors, electrical infrastructure, cooling towers, dust collectors, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, Fire Suppression systems, etc.
  • Manages maintenance functions and details for planning of maintenance serviced equipment to include planning, work organization, spare parts ordering, project management, etc.
  • Provides guidance to maintenance manager and maintenance supervisors in planning support, equipment expertise
  • Works with other departments to ensure plant goals and customer service goals are met to include possibility of supporting off shifts as needed
