The Facilities Engineer will be an active member of the Engineering & Maintenance support team. The Facilities Engineer will be the primary point of contact for larger facility type projects involving outside contractor and/or in house services. Will be responsible for the plants BMS systems and main back up on Fire Systems Activities. This position serves as a secondary resource being a Project Manager, responsibilities include back up on projects for all loading dock, plumbing, and HVAC repair projects, providing backup support and helping ensure projects remain on schedule. Additional responsibilities include supporting the Engineering Department through project scheduling, proposal preparation, document management, and other departmental activities.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree.
  • Minimum 3+ years of Facilities Engineering experience.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, building systems, utilities, and repair procedures relating to facilities management.
  • Good at prioritizing work load and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience reviewing specifications and developing proposals.
  • Proven organizational and project management skills, along with effective communication skills.
  • Good computing and software skills including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with hourly employees as well as exempt personnel in an industrial environment.
  • Experience with Fire Systems, Cooling Tower’s, piping systems, and manufacturing facility
  • Excellent organizational, filing, and recordkeeping skills
  • Self-starter and a proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability

Responsibilities

  • Support a fast-paced manufacturing facility, by helping Maintenance & Operations solve problems and manage projects, from conception to completion.
  • Use of internal maintenance management software to track projects.
  • Estimate cost of work and develop proposals and schedules for new projects and planned work.
  • Coordinate repairs to ensure all projects are executed safely, correctly and professionally.
  • Analyze value of services received from existing and future contractors.
  • Assist with document control activities within the engineering and maintenance group.
  • Assist engineering department with large project planning & execution.
  • Work closely with contractors of various disciplines as well as on-site maintenance personnel to achieve successful project completion.
  • Some projects to be done at other Prysmian locations in the US.
