About The Position

Prysmian is a leading global manufacturer of wire and cable. The Facilities Engineer will be an active member of the Engineering & Maintenance support team, serving as the primary point of contact for significant facility projects involving external contractors and/or internal services. This role is also responsible for the plant's Building Management Systems (BMS) and acts as a main backup for Fire Systems. Additionally, the Facilities Engineer will provide secondary project management support, assisting with projects related to loading dock, plumbing, and HVAC repairs, ensuring they stay on schedule. The position also supports the Engineering Department through project scheduling, proposal preparation, document management, and other related activities. The role involves supporting a fast-paced manufacturing facility by helping Maintenance & Operations solve problems and manage projects from inception to completion, utilizing internal maintenance management software to track projects. Responsibilities include estimating costs, developing proposals and schedules, coordinating repairs for safety and quality, analyzing contractor services, assisting with document control, and supporting large project planning and execution. Collaboration with various contractors and on-site maintenance personnel is key to successful project completion. Some project work may be required at other Prysmian locations in the US.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree.
  • Minimum 3+ years of Facilities Engineering experience.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, building systems, utilities, and repair procedures relating to facilities management.
  • Good at prioritizing work load and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience reviewing specifications and developing proposals.
  • Proven organizational and project management skills, along with effective communication skills.
  • Good computing and software skills including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

  • Experience with Fire Systems, Cooling Tower’s, piping systems, and manufacturing facility

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for larger facility type projects involving outside contractors and/or in house services.
  • Be responsible for the plants BMS systems and main back up on Fire Systems.
  • Serve as a secondary resource being a Project Manager, responsibilities include back up on projects for all loading dock, plumbing, and HVAC repair projects, providing backup support and helping ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Support the Engineering Department through project scheduling, proposal preparation, document management, and other departmental activities.
  • Support a fast-paced manufacturing facility, by helping Maintenance & Operations solve problems and manage projects, from conception to completion.
  • Use of internal maintenance management software to track projects.
  • Estimate cost of work and develop proposals and schedules for new projects and planned work.
  • Coordinate repairs to ensure all projects are executed safely, correctly and professionally.
  • Analyze value of services received from existing and future contractors.
  • Assist with document control activities within the engineering and maintenance group.
  • Assist engineering department with large project planning & execution.
  • Work closely with contractors of various disciplines as well as on-site maintenance personnel to achieve successful project completion.
  • Perform some projects at other Prysmian locations in the US.
