At Peraton, you don’t just support the mission—you help define it. We’re seeking a Facilities Engineer to join our Surveillance team in Herndon, VA. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in keeping the infrastructure that powers our nation’s air traffic management running flawlessly. Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree 8 years experience, Master’s 6 years, Associate’s 10 years, or High School diploma 12 years relevant experience.
  • Strong expertise in HVAC, power distribution, communications (fiber), intercabling standards, and building infrastructure.
  • Experience reviewing technical designs and contractor work for compliance with standards.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and safety frameworks for critical infrastructure.
  • Background in physical security standards for facilities.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FAA programs, NAS systems, or air traffic control environments.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or certifications in facility/building management.
  • Familiarity with sustainable building practices, LEED standards, or energy-efficient systems.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Facility & Site Planning Oversight: Monitor the survey, planning, site preparation, and implementation of FAA facilities and radar replacement activities, ensuring visibility into impacts across the NAS.
  • Site Readiness & Issue Tracking Management: Track, manage, and report all facility‑related issues, risks, and action items to ensure site readiness and successful installation of new surface movement radar systems at airports.
  • Workstream Coordination Lead: Coordinate with FAA Implementation Teams, Program Office, Technical Operations, and the radar Vendor on facility drawings, surveys, crane siting considerations, engineering reports, and site preparation requirements.
  • Standards & Compliance Assurance: Ensure program adherence to all current applicable codes, orders, specifications, and standards during design, engineering, and site‑preparation activities.
