At Peraton, you don’t just support the mission—you help define it. We’re seeking a Facilities Engineer to join our Surveillance team in Herndon, VA. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in keeping the infrastructure that powers our nation’s air traffic management running flawlessly. Requirements

U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Bachelor’s degree 8 years experience, Master’s 6 years, Associate’s 10 years, or High School diploma 12 years relevant experience.
Strong expertise in HVAC, power distribution, communications (fiber), intercabling standards, and building infrastructure.
Experience reviewing technical designs and contractor work for compliance with standards.
Knowledge of regulatory and safety frameworks for critical infrastructure.
Background in physical security standards for facilities.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with FAA programs, NAS systems, or air traffic control environments.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or certifications in facility/building management.
Familiarity with sustainable building practices, LEED standards, or energy-efficient systems.
Understanding of project management methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities

Facility & Site Planning Oversight: Monitor the survey, planning, site preparation, and implementation of FAA facilities and radar replacement activities, ensuring visibility into impacts across the NAS.
Site Readiness & Issue Tracking Management: Track, manage, and report all facility‑related issues, risks, and action items to ensure site readiness and successful installation of new surface movement radar systems at airports.
Workstream Coordination Lead: Coordinate with FAA Implementation Teams, Program Office, Technical Operations, and the radar Vendor on facility drawings, surveys, crane siting considerations, engineering reports, and site preparation requirements.
Standards & Compliance Assurance: Ensure program adherence to all current applicable codes, orders, specifications, and standards during design, engineering, and site‑preparation activities.
