About The Position

The Facilities Engineer will be based in Austin, TX, reporting to the Facilities Manager. This role applies engineering values to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes used in processing or manufacturing products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience and training.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience as an Industrial or Facilities Engineer or related area.
  • Matter Expertise in one or more of the following areas: clean rooms, Walk-in Coolers & Freezers, RO/DI Water systems, Waste Neutralization, Compressed gas distribution systems, vacuum systems, Process chillers and non-clean utilities.
  • Manufacturing plant construction in a cGMP industry; preferably in Medical Devices or Pharma.
  • Facilities Engineering construction activity at MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Process) discipline.
  • Fault/Root Cause Analysis and Review (FRACAS).
  • Utilities (steam, cooling media, heating media, water systems, compressed air).

Responsibilities

  • Research facility products or equipment specifications and performance requirements to define designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
  • Research engineering proposals, process requirements and related technical data pertaining to industrial facilities machinery and equipment design.
  • Define feasibility of designing new plant facilities equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning and other technical and economic factors.
  • Provide technical facilities information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.
  • Compile and research facilities research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
  • Study engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technical changes and developments in industry.
  • Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Guide projects and project teams.
