About The Position

The Facilities Engineer serves as the point of contact for all facilities electrical needs and is responsible for the overall health, documentation, and operational management of the electrical and mechanical infrastructures. This role involves overseeing a variety of facility projects and assignments, working closely with internal customers and coordinating with property and facility management teams. The engineer will ensure effective execution of electrical and mechanical services related to capital improvements, infrastructure upgrades, equipment installations, and ongoing maintenance and repair activities. Responsibilities include electrical and mechanical system analysis, engineering support for project managers and maintenance teams, and development of facility maintenance programs. The role encompasses all aspects of electrical design, documentation, and analysis, with leadership responsibilities for both strategic initiatives and daily operations.

Requirements

  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • 5+ years of electrical experience or an advanced degree with 2+ years of electrical experience.
  • Experience with OSHA 510, as well as national, state, local codes and regulations concerning facilities design/engineering, operations and maintenance.
  • Experience writing clear statements of work, engineering specifications, reports and operating procedures.
  • Experience reading CAD Drawings and construction documents.
  • Experience with REVIT, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have OSHA 510 Certification.
  • Must have Electrical License/Certification.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years experience working with data center infrastructure.
  • 2+ years Project Management experience.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma or Black Belt Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a variety of facility projects and assignments, working closely with internal customers and coordinating with property and facility management teams.
  • Ensure effective execution of electrical and mechanical services related to capital improvements, infrastructure upgrades, equipment installations, and ongoing maintenance and repair activities.
  • Provide electrical and mechanical system analysis, engineering support for project managers and maintenance teams, and development of facility maintenance programs.
  • Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including labeling, testing, maintenance schedules, and system documentation.
  • Identify and recommend capital improvements to Facilities leadership to support equipment longevity, reliability, and overall system health.
  • Provide technical support for project execution, including design reviews, submittal evaluations, and field inspections for quality assurance.
  • Supervise and mentor facility engineers: provide guidance, support, and oversight on their assigned projects.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates to support capital planning.
  • Compile documentation to justify funding requests and manage projects from estimation through design and construction.
  • Establish and maintain plant standards for electrical and mechanical installations.
  • Collaborate with the design team and trades to develop and enforce these standards across all projects.
  • Comply with all corporate, client, and regulatory policies, including safety regulations, building codes, and industry best practices.
