About The Position

HAPO Community Credit Union is seeking an ambitious, self-motivated Facilities Engineer in Tri-Cities, WA. This role is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and routine building maintenance tasks in fields such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC on all facility and building systems. The Facilities Engineer will also perform general tasks for the maintenance and upkeep of grounds, facility, and site, and complete specialized repairs in areas of technical expertise. In coordination with the Support Services Manager, this role will oversee facility renovation and modernization projects, ensuring they are completed in a timely and cost-efficient manner. This position may be filled as a Facilities Engineer I, II, or III, depending on the selected candidate’s experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capabilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Ability to maintain a driving record that meets HAPO’s Corporate Vehicle Policy Standards as a required job function.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of facility maintenance trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to operate various maintenance tools, equipment, and vehicles (as applicable).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills with employees, members, vendors, and management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic preventive, routine, and corrective maintenance on facilities, grounds, and building systems, including interior and exterior components, lighting, signage, and equipment.
  • Repair basic level issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, doors, locks, HVAC components, and general building infrastructure.
  • Assists with more complex work under direction.
  • Support snow removal operations, emergency maintenance responses, and janitorial issues as needed.
  • Work with Branch personnel to perform inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, or code compliance issues.
  • Assist with facility improvement, renovation, or modernization projects.
  • Ability to work with third-party contractors or vendors for assigned maintenance or repair tasks.
  • Operate company-provided vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Assist with the setup and teardown of onsite and offsite events, including evening or weekend work as required.
