About The Position

The Facilities Engineer/Specialist II is responsible for evaluating and commenting on engineering work performed by internal teams and external contractors to ensure compliance with Company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. This role facilitates effective execution of engineering and design routines aligned with team goals and ensures accurate communication regarding engineering activities, progress, and issues. In addition to technical expertise, strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills are essential. This position involves being an Area Engineer for operations in a specific plant area, working collaboratively with other Facilities Engineers, Site Contact & Lead Engineers, and providing operations support for changes, repairs, and alterations of plant equipment. The role also includes conducting monthly Facilities Surveillance, providing shutdown engineering support, and developing and delivering small projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, or Electrical Mechanical Engineering or related engineering specialty, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria.
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications.
  • Field visits required – Carlsbad, NM.
  • Uncon design experience min 3+ years.
  • Midland based role - Field visits to Carlsbad/area - minimum 2 days every two weeks for data collection and field walks with operations and construction teams for handover.
  • 5 years’ O&G experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Problem solving skills - Specifically with Uncon design.
  • Carlsbad candidates would be considered.
  • Preference for bachelor’s degree or strong experience would be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work performed by internal teams and contractors.
  • Ensure work execution aligns with Company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate effective execution of discipline engineering and design routines.
  • Assure accurate and timely communication among the team and other company Functions on discipline engineering activities, progress, and issues.
  • Act as an Area Engineer for operations in a specific plant area.
  • Collaborate with other Facilities engineers, Site Contact & Lead Engineers to support assigned operations area.
  • Conduct Monthly Facilities Surveillance of area driven KPI's.
  • Provide operations support for changes, repairs & alterations of all plant pressure equipment (including piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, tanks etc.).
  • Provide shutdown engineering support.
  • Develop and deliver small projects.
  • Scoping facilities/field visits.
  • Manage management of change.
  • Hand off projects to the construction team.
  • Close out project deliverables.
