About The Position

Responsible for performing and/or project management of capital facilities and/or construction projects, and specialized facilities engineering work. Areas may include, but are not limited to, activities related to the maintenance, repair and modification of equipment controls/communications, electrical/electronic systems, special systems/processes, or mechanical devices and equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering, construction management
  • Minimum 7 years’ work experience
  • Excellent oral/written communications (including writing clear reports)
  • Organizational expertise
  • Team building/effective conflict resolution skills
  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds

Responsibilities

  • Develops and/or implements predictive, preventive and reliability centered maintenance programs, including maintenance check sheets, maintenance logic decision trees, predictive maintenance techniques, and related analyses.
  • Provides advice and consultation to Management Team regarding facilities engineering matters, including compliance with federal/state laws and regulations.
  • Coordinates facilities engineering project activities with other departments.
  • Prepares data and documents for use during governmental or customer inquiries and audits.
  • Negotiates, administers, interprets and/or enforces purchase orders for specialized facilities work such as water utility, backflow prevention, alarm systems, or other, etc.
  • Performs engineering project management work to include preparing budgets, project execution, resolving work problems, recommending contract change orders, preparing progress reports, and reviewing invoices/authorizing payments.
  • Oversees maintenance and modification of computerized process control systems, maintenance management systems, and the facilities change notice procedure.
  • Coordinates with Operations and Process Engineering to assign project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project, such as technical studies, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and testing; recommends teams of trades and operators needed.
  • Applies working knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of the facilities engineering discipline in order to review and comment on engineering project work plans prepared by outside consultants for conformance to CoorsTek standards and specifications, and in the preparation of a variety of technical facilities engineering reports and analyses for presentation to management team.
  • Determines feasibility and/or design of new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities, considering costs, available space, time limits, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
  • Recommends work equipment and maintenance standards, procedures and performance criteria for ongoing planned activities; may help to define training needs for maintenance and operations personnel, such as trade skills enhancement, related to maintenance standards and procedures.
  • Prepares budget request for work unit; estimates staffing and capital equipment needs based on recent trends and planned activities; monitors expenditures after budget adoption; submits or approves requisitions for purchase of materials and supplies.
  • Coordinates with the purchasing functions for the planning and procurement of equipment, tooling, purchased parts, related materials, supplies and services as required executing the facilities projects and master plan.
  • Optimizes all purchases as a major way to reduce costs.
  • Partners with EHS, Maintenance, Operations and Engineering to support multi-disciplinary demands of the Manufacturing processes and operations.
  • Assists and/or performs in any and all areas as assigned.
  • May work any and all shifts/days as required.
