Facilities Electrician
About The Position
Castelion is hiring a Facilities Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems across its facility. The work includes electrical distribution, motor controls, panels, disconnects, lighting, transformers, and equipment power wiring. The electrician will also support equipment installations, facility expansion and infrastructure projects, preventive and corrective maintenance, and critical system response. The role follows applicable electrical safety practices and codes, including LOTO and Arc Flash requirements. The position may involve on-call work and other responsibilities assigned by management. Access to classified or restricted government information may require a security clearance or other authorization if applicable. The role also requires access to export-controlled information, contingent on eligibility to access it without additional export licensing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of experience in electrical systems.
- Must own basic tools.
- Active California Driver’s License.
Nice To Haves
- Licensed Journeyman Electrician with at least five years of experience; six or more years preferred, or ten years of equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting; aerospace or defense experience preferred, with general industrial experience acceptable.
- Expertise in electrical power distribution, transformer installation, and industrial wiring.
- Comfort with 120–480V systems, motor controls, VFDs, and basic panel or control troubleshooting.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, panel drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and complete electrical projects independently.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills focused on root-cause resolution.
- Working knowledge of LOTO and Arc Flash practices.
- Ability to install explosion-proof outlets, lighting, and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility electrical systems and components, including 120/208/480V distribution, motor controls, panels, disconnects, and lighting.
- Install step-down transformers from 480V to 120V and wire power to equipment.
- Bend conduit, pull wire, and install new circuits in accordance with facility standards and best practices.
- Assist with new equipment installations, including power drops, panel modifications, and coordination with vendors or contractors.
- Install and test ground rods.
- Upgrade lighting ballasts from fluorescent to LED.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems to maximize uptime.
- Perform LOTO for electrical and mechanical isolation work.
- Follow Arc Flash safety protocols, including appropriate PPE selection and boundary awareness.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and local building codes.
- Support facility expansion, capital improvement, and infrastructure upgrade projects.
- Respond to critical system issues, including power failures, equipment malfunctions, and environmental control disruptions.
- Assist with site-wide operations and support tasks as assigned.
- Work on an on-call basis and handle responsibilities assigned by management.
