About The Position

This is a Specialist level position for engineers who provide engineering support in the areas of site utilities (gas, water, electricity) to produce steam, chilled water, de-ionized water and compressed air for manufacturing. The incumbent ensures the facility is always in compliance with all local and government regulations. They provide technical direction to facilities staff and direct them in non-routine work as applicable. This role works with management and technical staff to formulate plans on equipment placement and replacement as necessary, and coordinates contract services, inspections, and audits. The position manages multiple projects of varying complexity using solid project management skills and tools, drives the supplier/contractor selection process, and ensures all orders/requisitions are placed with necessary drawings, specifications, and documentation. The role monitors and reports progress status of projects along with quality, schedule, safety, security, productivity, administration, and worksite appearance to the site management team, and evaluates contractors on these aspects. It also ensures compliance to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standards and manages and directs EHS functions such as occupational health, claims management, industrial hygiene, safety, hazardous materials, hazardous waste management, pollution prevention, and ergonomics. The role ensures compliance with applicable government EHS regulations, develops new programs to meet new/revised regulations, and collaborates at all levels in site planning, including reviewing proposed and existing processes and equipment and making recommendations. Periodic reviews of EHS programs and initiatives are performed to identify and control risks. The position ensures compliance to ISO 50001:2011 – Energy Management System Standards and is responsible for the design, deployment, implementation, and support of Celestica's Energy Management. They work with all Celestica Corporate and Celestica sites Energy staffs to meet energy objectives and to develop implementation schedules and ongoing support plans, providing support and leadership through the completion of the plan.

Requirements

Engineering Foundation Competencies
Knowledge of Industrial hygiene, Environmental, Health and Safety programs and regulations including ISO 14001.
Knowledge of Industrial Engineering standards.
In-depth knowledge of structural and facilities engineering and manufacturing processes.
Ability to evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
Strong knowledge of IT platforms, database design and programming languages.
Strong knowledge of some or all of the following: UNIX, NT, database management system.
Ability to evaluate materials, gather and analyze data and determine root cause of problems.
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and coordinate multiple, changing deadlines.
Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external customers.
Three to six years of relevant experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
