About The Position

The Facilities Development Specialist/Staff serves as the primary point of contact for all facilities-related operations at the Colorado Springs location, supporting the full spectrum of facilities planning, design & engineering, real estate, construction, and secure operations functions. This role requires a versatile professional who can manage multiple facility disciplines and coordinate with the Facilities Development Directorate to ensure seamless execution of workspace planning, construction projects, real estate agreements, and operational support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Business Administration, or related field OR Associate's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience OR 6+ years of progressive facilities management experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facilities management, construction management, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple facility functions simultaneously
  • Experience with workspace planning and space utilization
  • Project management experience, including vendor and contractor coordination

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate workspace planning and space utilization requests (SURF) for the Colorado Springs site
  • Manage strategic space and relocation planning initiatives
  • Support facilities capital planning and budgeting processes
  • Ensure business continuity considerations in all facility decisions
  • Maintain accurate space allocation records and utilization metrics
  • Serve as liaison with architects, design firms, and project engineering teams
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering requirements
  • Oversee construction and renovation project management activities
  • Review design and constructability plans for site-specific projects
  • Manage relationships with low-voltage contractors and corporate furniture vendors
  • Administer corporate leases and government co-location agreements
  • Manage Facilities Use Agreements (FUAs) for the location
  • Coordinate lease renewals, modifications, and space requirements
  • Ensure compliance with real estate policies and procedures
  • Oversee construction and renovation project execution
  • Manage relationships with construction contractors, mechanical contractors, and electrical contractors
  • Coordinate with low-voltage contractors for technology infrastructure
  • Conduct design and constructability reviews
  • Ensure quality control and project timeline adherence
  • Support classified workspace planning and coordination
  • Manage space escort requirements and facility coordination for secure areas
  • Ensure compliance with security requirements for classified projects
  • Coordinate with security teams on facility access and modifications
