About The Position

The Facilities Custodial Manager is responsible for supervising the Custodial team which serves King’s Schools, Corporate Resources and Crista Media. Provide leadership, support, and guidance to the Custodial employees. Ensure satisfactory and timely completion of assigned daily and project tasks.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • 2+ years of experience in custodial management.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Able to work varied schedules.
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to understand and place into action basic infection control procedures.
  • Able to handle and mix chemicals safely and properly.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use all department equipment.
  • Able to maintain records and complete reports as required.
  • Written and oral communication and teaching skills.
  • Work collaboratively and positively with supervisor, coworkers, other personnel and the public.
  • Able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Able to work around and with cleaning products.
  • Ability to pass background checks relating to DSHS Secretary’s List of Crimes and Negative Actions. ( WAC 388-113 ).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent.
  • Five years of custodial management experience.
  • Previous experience working in a school environment.
  • Time management system

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the Facilities Custodial Team, providing leadership for all assigned buildings according to policies, procedures, and federal/state requirements.
  • Develop and implement an Annual Cleaning Plan/Agreement for all assigned buildings.
  • Provide leadership, support, coordination and guidance to ensure that quality standards, inventory levels, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.
  • Ensure satisfactory and timely completion of assigned tasks and project work done in all assigned buildings.
  • Maintain records of expenditures, supplies, personnel and equipment.
  • Manage preventative maintenance (PM’s) of all equipment to ensure that they are in working order.
  • Verify that all buildings are sufficiently stocked.
  • Complete periodic inventories of supplies and materials.
  • Manage hiring, orientation and training of new employees, and disciplinary issues.
  • Ensure staff consistently take all required rest and meal periods in accordance with policy and applicable laws.
  • Serve as liaison between Crista management or administrators and Custodial staff.
  • Responsible for task follow-up and accountability, including regular inspections to assess work quality.
  • Manage staff attendance to ensure accurate recording of work hours.
  • Provide training as needed.
  • Manage campus safety training/protocols and maintain the SDS software to maintain compliance.
  • Train staff in how to safely and properly handle all supplies i.e.: cleaning solution and other cleaning equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).
