Facilities Coordinator - Mason City

FOUR OAKS FAMILY AND CHILDRENS SERVICESMason City, IA
Onsite

About The Position

Like fixing things, staying busy, and never having the exact same day twice? If you're the kind of person who sees something that needs to be done and just gets after it, you might be exactly who we're looking for. We're looking for a Facilities Coordinator who enjoys working with their hands, solving everyday problems, and taking pride in keeping buildings and grounds looking and working their best. One day you might be tackling a repair or getting a room ready for an event. The next, you're checking equipment, taking care of the grounds, coordinating custodial needs, or making sure we're stocked with the supplies our teams need. This isn't a sit-behind-a-desk-all-day kind of job. It's a hands-on role for someone who likes variety, can work independently, and enjoys being the person people can count on when something needs attention. You're not doing the same task eight hours a day. You'll have the opportunity to move around, work independently, solve problems, use different skills, and actually see what you accomplished at the end of the day. You'll also work with staff, vendors, and other partners to respond to maintenance needs and help make sure our facilities are safe, welcoming, and ready for the people who depend on them.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent plus experience in facility maintenance, custodial services, or related work experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have had a valid drivers license for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Must have the physical ability to work standing for extended periods, inspect mechanical aspects of buildings, climb heights, and lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must safely operate mowing, snow removal, and maintenance equipment and work in environments that may expose the employee to minor injuries or adverse weather conditions.
  • Must maintain frequent communication with internal staff to respond to maintenance and custodial requests.
  • Must meet hiring qualifications for the position as set by contractual agreement with HHS, JCS, Managed Care, the Council on Accreditation of Family and Children's Services, and/or any applicable funding source.

Responsibilities

  • Handle preventative maintenance and everyday building repairs to help keep our facilities, vehicles, and equipment running safely and smoothly.
  • Help make sure our buildings, offices, and common spaces are clean, organized, and ready for the people who use them every day.
  • Help maintain the grounds through mowing, trimming, snow removal, and other seasonal upkeep while making sure entrances and outdoor areas remain safe and accessible.
  • Help get rooms and equipment set up for meetings, trainings, and events.
  • Monitor maintenance and custodial supplies, maintain storeroom inventory, distribute supplies, and order what's needed before we run out.
  • Maintain supplier and repair contacts, keep receipts and invoices organized, and make sure maintenance work and safety inspections are documented accurately and on time.
