About The Position

The Charlie Dunlop School of Biological Sciences has five academic departments: Developmental and Cell Biology, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Neurobiology and Behavior, and Systems Biology. It is one of the largest schools on campus with 10 buildings and over 330,000 square feet of space. The Facilities Coordinator provides support services to all Dean's Office units and five academic departments in the facilities and space planning area.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge in the areas of building space planning, codes, capacity, security, fire safety, organization and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Thorough interpersonal skills including good service orientation and effective problem solving.
  • Knowledge of architectural or engineering concepts.
  • Thorough and effective skills to multi-task and prioritize daily activities effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 3-5 years Facilities coordination and management, building operations, or a closely related administrative or operational role.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years Work in a higher education, research, healthcare, or large institutional setting

Responsibilities

  • Implements and coordinates building management procedures and space management activities.
  • Implements and makes recommendations for new and revised procedures.
  • Oversees various facilities-related operational activities.
  • Troubleshoot and respond appropriately in the event of a building emergency.
