About The Position

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business Facilities Department oversees the operation, management, and repair of the College’s facilities in Warren, Statler, and Sage Halls on the Ithaca NY campus, as well as facilities on the Cornell Tech campus and at 570 Lexington Avenue in New York City. Duties include operational budgeting, managing physical access, supporting academic and research activities, event management, and interactions with internal and external facilities support providers. This position, reporting to the Director of Facilities, serves as the primary point of contact for space assignments, building access, and facilities coordination within the Dyson School's portion of Warren Hall. The Facilities Coordinator will recommend office space assignments, handle incoming space requests for faculty, staff, and visitors, and maintain accurate records. Responsibilities also include coordinating office and furniture moves, managing door access, liaising with IT for computer setups, and overseeing inventory management and procurement of furniture. Additionally, the role is the main contact for facilities maintenance requests and building care services, requiring regular meetings with CU building care and CALS maintenance coordinators to ensure facilities are safe, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The position will also ensure building care coverage for College events and assist other College of Business Facilities Team members as needed. Requirements

  • Ability to interact and communicate in a professional and courteous manner with all levels of administration, faculty, staff, visitors and guests.
  • Service-driven with great flexibility for rapidly changing needs of building occupants and physical plant operations.
  • Computer skills to operate software such as Outlook (e-mail), Word, Excel and other custom operating programs.
  • Excellent written communication skills, ability to work and think independently, and clearly and concisely communicate outstanding items to incoming shifts.
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for space assignments, building access, and facilities coordination for the Dyson School.
  • Work closely with Dyson School leadership and the Director of Facilities to recommend office space assignments and handle all incoming space requests for faculty, staff, and academic visitors.
  • Maintain accurate records of all office space assignments in Dyson’s portion of Warren Hall for tracking and reporting.
  • Handle facilities issues related to the arrival and departure of faculty and staff, including coordinating office moves, furniture moves, door access, and IT computer set-ups.
  • Manage inventory and procure furniture for the Dyson space.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all facilities maintenance requests and building care services.
  • Meet regularly with CU building care and CALS maintenance coordinators to ensure facilities are kept safe, clean, comfortable, and in good repair.
  • Work with CALS and Dyson's Registrars to ensure building care coverage for all College events held in Warren Hall.
  • Assist other College of Business Facilities Team members as needed with projects, events, or other duties.
