About The Position

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Facilities Coordinator, Operations & Projects to join our dynamic Enterprise Facilities team. The Coordinator, Operations & Projects is responsible for coordinating operational and project activities in alignment with internal procedures, training requirements, and applicable regulatory and legislative standards, ensuring continuity of operations and adherence to established quality and compliance expectations. In this role you will provide on‑site operational oversight and coordination for facilities activities, including preventative maintenance, demand maintenance, repairs, and site‑based project work such as renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and space reconfigurations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and subcontracted service providers to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and to established standards. The Coordinator, Operations & Projects will also provide coordination support to the Facilities Supervisor and contributes to the effective delivery of facilities services across the broader portfolio.

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary diploma or certificate in Building Systems Technology, Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities operations, building systems coordination, or maintenance oversight in a regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance, vendor activities, and multi‑system building operations (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, automation).
  • Experience working in GMP, ISO, or other compliance‑driven environments, including documentation control and audit readiness.
  • Strong working knowledge of Environmental Control Management Systems, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and energy/utility monitoring
  • Experience supporting or coordinating facility‑related projects (renovations, infrastructure upgrades, space reconfigurations).
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders, vendors, and contractors effectively.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP, and maintenance management systems (CMMS); experience with MS Project, scheduling tools, and cost tracking.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, as‑built drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance records.
  • Strong organizational skills with emphasis on accuracy, documentation quality, and audit‑readiness.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements related to facility operations.
  • Must have a valid license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for CET, BOMA, IFMA, Certified Facilities Professional, or active pursuit of these designations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of facility systems, maintenance activities, and vendor services, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, quality standards, and operational procedures while supporting continuous improvement and facility performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, issue resolution, and a customer-focused approach that enhances service delivery and operational success.
  • Support colleagues, take initiative on tasks and issues, exercise sound judgment and accountability.
  • Coordinate financial and administrative activities for the Facilities team, including purchase orders, invoicing, budget tracking, vendor expenditures, and reporting, ensuring accuracy, financial accountability, and compliance with budget and audit requirements.
  • Support facilities-related projects, including renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and space reconfigurations, by assisting with planning, scheduling, contractor management, stakeholder communication, and project execution to ensure successful delivery and minimal operational disruption.
