This is a fully onsite role based at our Global Central Laboratory in Highland Heights, Kentucky. We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. Discover Impactful Work: Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Facilities Coordinator I, where you'll contribute to maintaining and optimizing our facilities. In this position, you'll ensure smooth daily operations while supporting our mission to enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll manage facility services, coordinate with vendors, and respond to various facility-related needs, creating an effective work environment for our teams. A day in the Life: In this role, you'll handle reception duties, manage building access systems, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure all facility services run efficiently. You'll be responsible for managing supply inventories, processing work orders, and coordinating with contractors to maintain our facilities. This role offers the opportunity to make meaningful contributions while working with inclusive teams in a professional environment.

Requirements

  • High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (0-1 year of experience)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and contractors
  • Ability to maintain accurate electronic and paper records
  • Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor
  • Willingness to respond to facility-related emergencies
  • Ability to work in various environments including office, laboratory, or clinical settings
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) preferred
  • Understanding of security systems and access control
