About The Position

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is looking for a highly motivated, accountable individual to fill the role of Facilities Controls Engineer supporting the Facilities Operations Group. This role provides engineering support for the operation and maintenance of facilities controls systems by troubleshooting and modifying program codes. The engineer will lead contractors through the development of the scope of work by reviewing control design packages, P&ID drawings, program design, simulation, testing, and the startup of new equipment. Additionally, the role involves identifying, developing, and designing control panels, improvements, and upgrades to control systems for enhanced system functionality and reliability. Collaboration with operators, technicians, and process engineers is key for developing, implementing, and executing process improvements. The position also requires managing virtualized server infrastructure (ESXi/vSphere) for domain controllers, SCADA, historian, and PLC management, and designing high-availability OT networks using Cisco and Allen-Bradley switches. Configuration of static and dynamic routing, optimization of PLC/SCADA traffic, and deep packet analysis to identify latency issues are also responsibilities. The engineer will manage firewalls to enforce OT-IT segmentation and conduct vulnerability assessments. This includes handling fiber media inventory, integrating PLC protocols with IT, maintaining comprehensive documentation (topology diagrams, IP/VLAN plans), ensuring compliance, providing Tier 2/3 network support, and collaborating with various process, IT, and facilities teams.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in related Engineering field.
A minimum of four years of experience in a relevant field is required.
Familiarity and experience with Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix/MicroLogix, Siemens S7-400 CPU Hardware.
Knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols (Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, fiber optics, Devicenet, RS 485).
Knowledge of IT networking, Firewall, virtualization, Server management, Process Instrumentations, Industrial control panels, Motor Control Panels, and VFDs.

Nice To Haves

Software knowledge or experience with Rockwell RS Logix/Studio 5000, Aveva System Platform, Siemens SIMATIC Manager Step 7, Siemens WinCC Open Architecture and Ignition HMI is a plus.
