About The Position

The Facilities Construction Supervisor is responsible for the planning, coordination, supervision, and inspection of the construction, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems for assigned well site production facilities construction projects. This role oversees multiple facility construction projects from inception to completion, providing leadership, mentorship, and coaching to site personnel. The supervisor actively participates in meetings representing the facilities construction group and coordinates daily construction efforts with other departments including Engineering, Purchasing, Production, EHS, Drilling, Completions, Suppliers, and Consultants. The primary goal is to ensure each project is completed within scope, on time, and on budget through direct supervision of multiple contractors across multiple sites.

Requirements

  • High School and 4 to 8 years of demonstrated relevant operations and or construction experience, leadership and a knowledge of oil & gas production facilities - mechanical
  • Technical or Associates degree with 3 years of demonstrated relevant operations and or construction experience, leadership and a knowledge of oil & gas production facilities - mechanical
  • Bachelors degree with 3 years of demonstrated relevant operations and or construction experience, leadership and a knowledge of oil & gas production facilities - mechanical
  • Professional Project Management certificate with 3 years demonstrated relevant operations and or construction experience, leadership and a knowledge of oil & gas production facilities - mechanical
  • Construction Management degree with 3 years of demonstrated relevant operations and or construction experience, leadership and a knowledge of oil & gas production facilities - mechanical
  • Oil and Gas operations and construction experience
  • Intermediate computer skills: File manager, Excel, Word, Power Point, Site View, Citrix
  • Strong project management skills: Plans scope, schedule, budget, quality, estimates, and cost control reports
  • Reads and understands design drawings, flow diagrams, and P&ID's
  • Knowledge of specialty construction equipment and construction methods
  • Equipment operation experience -- excavators, dozers
  • Strong organizational skills / attention to detail
  • Proven skills in multi-tasking several priorities and project responsibilities
  • Time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills to deal with vendors and construction team members
  • Understanding of OSHA code compliance
  • Mechanical-- Oil & gas mechanical facility mechanical experience

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of multiple facilities construction projects, including planning, budgeting, constructing, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting for Mechanical related construction activities.
  • Contributes to improving facilities design and construction methods.
  • Plans, coordinates, supervises, and inspects the construction, testing, and commissioning of facilities by RRC employees and subcontractors on schedule.
  • Oversees a project from start to finish, scheduling and coordinating efforts with other construction personnel.
  • Inspects facility construction progress at four or five sites daily, ensuring code compliance, adherence to design drawings, safe construction practices, identification of potential hazards, and quality inspection of all materials and equipment.
  • Identifies opportunities to save time and reduce costs, increase productivity, and plans several days ahead to optimize construction, commissioning, and operations.
  • Orders additional materials, rock, equipment, and pump trucks to expedite construction.
  • Addresses and resolves issues on multiple sites immediately, respectfully, and effectively.
  • Makes construction-related technical decisions with delegated authority from the Area Supervisor.
  • Instructs on-site construction personnel to change practices to meet agreed-upon expectations.
  • Ensures the correct personnel, skill sets, and equipment are on-site and coordinated for cost-effective construction.
  • Inspects all construction details, identifies quality issues, and design/process deficiencies.
  • Dispatches necessary resources to correct issues and seeks advice from Engineering, Area Supervisor, Construction Manager, and manufacturers to expedite solutions.
  • Works closely with Engineering to ensure safe construction, inspection, and testing as designed.
  • Provides input and ideas to improve facility design and ensure cost-effective, reliable facilities.
  • Performs material procurement, including reading bills of material, working with Purchasing to ensure timely and correct material orders, and inspecting delivered parts for quality.
  • Works with Purchasing to develop bid packages, prepare estimates, and justifications for AFEs.
  • Ensures all required records related to construction, testing, and commissioning are maintained.
  • Ensures facilities are properly painted, signed, have barriers, are secure, and undergo final cleanup.
  • Directly mentors and trains Construction Supervisors on process and performance improvements.
  • Fills in for any Supervisor who is on vacation, in training, or out sick.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
