About The Position

The Facilities Construction Technician will perform renovation, remodeling, and construction projects throughout manufacturing and administrative facilities. This role involves building, installing, repairing, painting, and modifying various structures and components, including walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, cabinetry, and partitions. The technician will also construct offices, conference rooms, break areas, storage rooms, and production support spaces, and perform basic plumbing tasks such as toilet and sink installation. A key aspect of the role is the ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications, and construction drawings, as well as install drywall, insulation, trim, molding, doors, windows, and hardware. The position requires performing demolition work safely, coordinating renovation activities to minimize operational disruptions, and operating various tools and equipment. Maintaining compliance with safety regulations and estimating material requirements are also essential duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years of carpentry experience, preferably in commercial, industrial, or manufacturing renovations.
  • Basic plumbing experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform renovation, remodeling, and construction projects throughout manufacturing and administrative facilities.
  • Build, install, repair, paint and modify walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, cabinetry, and partitions.
  • Construct offices, conference rooms, break areas, storage rooms, and production support spaces.
  • Basic plumbing including toilet and sink installation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Install drywall, insulation, trim, molding, doors, windows, and hardware.
  • Perform demolition work related to renovation projects while adhering to safety requirements.
  • Coordinate renovation activities with production departments to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and construction equipment safely.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable building codes.
  • Estimate material requirements and maintain inventory of construction supplies and tools.
