About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance (Compressor) Technician plays a vital role in the overall success of the client’s business, championing the upkeep, reliability, and safety of all compressed air systems and equipment. This role ensures that facilities and plants run efficiently by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, supporting repairs, and assisting with system installations. Acting as a key contributor to team success, the Facilities Compressor Maintenance Technician drives operational excellence, promotes a safe work environment, and helps maintain the integrity and functionality of facilities critical to business operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in commercial or industrial compressed air systems & vacuum pumps.
  • Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in the repair of compressed air systems such as Garden Denver air compressors and Decker vacuum pumps.
  • Proficient in electrical schematics and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of experience in commercial or industrial facility maintenance.
  • Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in the repair of HVAC systems, Plumbing systems, Electrical systems.
  • Able to effectively troubleshoot and solve complex problems pertaining to HVAC equipment.
  • Current valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Technical proficiency with work order management systems (CMMS) such as Corrigo, MTX, Yardi.
  • Current EPA certification or ability and commitment to obtain.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and hair follicle drug screening.
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative / safety conscious environment.
  • Promote a safe work environment throughout the facility and complete all safety training on time.

  • Willingly accepts and assists with all assigned tasks, demonstrating flexibility, accountability, and a team-first mindset.
  • Technical proficiency with air compressor systems & vacuum pumps.
  • Technical proficiency with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing.
  • Technical proficiency and comfort with troubleshooting various mechanical systems.
  • Flexibility to provide critical services as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work requests and projects.
  • Professional proficiency in executing maintenance tasks with accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with safety protocols, while communicating and collaborating effectively with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Sense of urgency & personal initiative to succeed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with carpentry, drywall repairs, and painting.
  • Associate’s degree or vocational/technical school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on compressed air systems and equipment.
  • Support repairs and assist with system installations for compressed air systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair buildings and installed systems, including packaging and handling machinery, large air compressors, plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop equipment, grounds equipment, and HVAC systems.
  • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
  • Review, create, and maintain assigned work orders with associated paperwork within a digital computerized maintenance management system.
  • Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and paint walls, piping, floors, and equipment.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, performing both reactive and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems such as fire alarm systems, fire pumps, and related fire protection system equipment.
  • Identify and work with potential outside contractors/vendors from sourcing to quotation to job completion.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests as assigned.
  • Use technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, and building automation systems.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and practice safe work habits.
  • Complete all required safety training as scheduled weekly/monthly/annually.
  • Comply with company dress code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hours.
