Compressor Maintenance Technician

About The Position

The Compressor Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation, and modification of commercial and industrial air compressor and vacuum pump systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise across mechanical systems and the ability to support broader facility maintenance needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working with commercial or industrial compressed air systems and vacuum pumps
  • 2–3 years of related experience in commercial or industrial facility maintenance.
  • Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or vocational/technical diploma preferred.
  • EPA certification (current) or the ability and commitment to obtain certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (commercial license may be required).
  • Strong technical proficiency with: Air compressor systems and vacuum pumps HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems
  • High level of comfort troubleshooting complex mechanical and electromechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience using work order management systems (CMMS)
  • Ability to work in industrial and mechanical environments.
  • Capability to lift, carry, and maneuver tools and equipment as required.
  • Willingness to respond to emergency repairs and work flexible hours when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair air compressor and vacuum pump systems with a high level of technical proficiency.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on large industrial air compressors , vacuum pumps, and related mechanical systems.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of building systems and installed equipment, including: Packaging and material handling machinery Plumbing systems Kitchen and shop equipment Roofs, drains, and grounds equipment HVAC systems
  • Assist with the installation, modification, and upgrades of building equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders, document repairs, and track maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Provide technical support and collaboration with facilities and operations teams.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in a safe and operational condition.
