About The Position

The Carpenter is responsible for performing predictive maintenance and reactive repairs, including repairing broken or damaged furniture, building custom cabinetry, tables, office space, and other furniture as requested. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and company policies, practices, and procedures to ensure overall facility integrity.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of prior relevant experience in a similar environment
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine to complex maintenance and repair work on all furniture, cabinetry, rooms, public areas and offices
  • Responsible for completion of jobs assigned by Dispatch or Management, maintain logbooks
  • Operate power and hand tools to complete job assignments in a timely manner
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install permanent structures, office partitions, doors, cornices, counters, etc.
  • Safely set up and operate various types of woodworking machines in conjunction with work assignments
  • Work under minimal supervision to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to obtain dimensions and finished specifications
  • Lay out jobs and compute angular and linear dimensions as required
  • Understand the layout of the property, hotel rooms, and equipment
  • Keep informed and updated on current techniques and technical methods and advise Shift Supervisor of any unusual conditions within the property
  • Maintain constant awareness of personal and property cleanliness, safety and accident prevention
  • Able to wear/use personal protective equipment (p.p.e.)
