About The Position

As the Facilities Caretaker, you will support the mission of the Urban Ecology Center by ensuring the Riverside Park branch is well-maintained, hospitable, and cared for using green, sustainable cleaning practices. You are responsible for the routine custodial needs of the facilities.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED and/or equivalent job experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in custodial duties is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily cleaning of public areas, bathrooms, classrooms, office spaces, and other areas of the building as directed.
  • Performs ongoing facilities upkeep tasks, keeping a weekly, monthly, quarterly schedule of areas to be addressed and maintained.
  • Ensures the cleaning schedule corresponds to building use, and works with the Event & Rentals Manager to ensure spaces are ready for use in a timely manner.
  • Ensures grounds are maintained as directed. Tasks may include but are not limited to: windows, sidewalks, trash pickup, emptying waste containers, removing graffiti, assisting facilities maintenance staff.
  • Assists with snow removal as needed.
  • Weekly bus cleaning, including sweeping, seat sanitizing, trash removal, and other related duties.
