About The Position

This maintenance position assists the Maintenance Department with repairs and servicing of production equipment and facilities, while supporting safety and compliance tasks. The employee develops a thorough understanding of production equipment, the manufacturing process, and operations. The role performs routine maintenance, cleaning, inspections, minor troubleshooting and repairs, and maintenance recordkeeping. Work is in person in Bloomfield, New York, on a 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Monday–Friday shift. Overtime may be required, with occasional on-call weekends or nights to support production. Mandatory off-site training may be required depending on the individual's skill set.

Requirements

Six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
One year of troubleshooting experience (required).
One year of mechanical knowledge (required).
One year of maintenance experience (required).
Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; print simple sentences and legibly complete reports and time cards; and understand and follow verbal instructions.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
Ability to follow written, oral, electronic, or diagram-based instructions and address problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
OSHA 10 or equivalent certification.
Scissor/platform lift certification or training.
LOTO training.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including regularly standing and using hands; frequently walking and reaching; occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing; and lifting or moving up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to relocate to Bloomfield, NY 14469 before starting work.

Nice To Haves

Experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, and pneumatic work is strongly preferred.
Ability to learn new tasks quickly and accomplish tasks professionally and safely.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and make minor repairs to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls.
Understand blueprints and use hand equipment and power tools.
Assist with preventive maintenance programs and assigned facility safety and conformance tasks, including facility cleaning, filter changes and inspections, grounds upkeep, walkway clearing, forklift battery maintenance, floor and bollard repairs, bathroom and sink maintenance, drainage crock cleaning, ladder and aerial-lift PPE inspections, and loading dock upkeep.
Use Asset Essentials software to record completed work and use software-driven maintenance programs for assignments and scheduling.
Load trucks and assist with transportation requests when needed.
Perform weekly riser inspections per FM Global and inspect and clean critical equipment weekly, reporting and recording readings daily.
Clean, inspect, and maintain lighting; replace lighting and exit/emergency-light batteries as assigned; perform emergency exit alarm testing.
Address leaks with temporary fixes and perform grinder plug cleanout when needed.
Assist contractors to ensure safety and policy compliance, and assist with miscellaneous maintenance tasks.
Perform scheduled lubrication of production machinery.
Follow plant safety and housekeeping guidelines and participate in maintaining a safe work environment.
Comply with BRC/HACCP requirements and the location's written Food Safety & Quality Policy.
Complete safety program training and tasks for EPA and NYSDEC safety and compliance programs.
Work overtime as needed and provide occasional on-call weekend or night support for production.
Attend mandatory off-site training when required.
