Facilities Assistant - Facilities Services Division
About The Position
The Facilities Assistant plays a hands-on role in keeping EPL buildings, functional, and welcoming. This position completes basic maintenance tasks such as light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and fixture installation, responds to routine and urgent facility issues, and supports loading dock operations. Duties also include operating material-handling equipment (e.g. forklift, platform trucks, and powered and non-powered pallet jacks), receiving and staging deliveries, moving furniture and equipment, and maintaining organized dock and storage areas. The Facilities Assistant position is ideal for someone practical, safety-focused, and energized by variety, teamwork, and active work.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid Forklift Certification.
- A minimum of one year of related experience including building maintenance/operations and shipping/receiving.
- Experience operating a forklift in a warehouse, loading dock, industrial or facilities environment, with the ability to clearly explain prior use and operation conditions.
- The ability to perform a variety of physically demanding tasks.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to multitask.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to urgent or unplanned operational needs.
- A satisfactory background screening is required for this position, which includes a Criminal Record Check/Police Information Check.

- A valid Class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operators License is an asset.
