About The Position

Harris County Precinct 4 is seeking a dedicated and reliable Facilities Assistant to support the daily operations of the Steve Radack Community Center. This hands-on role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all community members. The Facilities Assistant is responsible for performing routine facility cleaning, conducting minor repairs, and assisting with basic landscaping to ensure the building, equipment, and surrounding grounds remain in good working condition. This role also supports overall center operations by helping set up rooms for activities, assisting program staff, and providing general support to participants and visitors. In addition to facility upkeep, the Facilities Assistant will occasionally assist visitors with enrollment and registration in ActiveNet, ensuring accurate data entry and offering support as needed. The position may also assist front desk staff with administrative and clerical tasks, as well as communicate Precinct 4 resources, services, and upcoming events to visitors when appropriate. This position requires initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility is essential, as evening and weekend work may be required based on operational needs. The ideal candidate must also be willing to travel to other sites when needed to support additional community centers. This position reports directly to the Community Center Assistant Manager. The role is funded through the end of September 2026 as part of our current community programming. We anticipate reviewing the position for potential continuation during the next fiscal year’s budget process.
