About The Position

This is an onsite opportunity based out of Concord, CA. Position Summary The Facilities Assistant provides comprehensive facilities support to maintain laboratories, office spaces, and common areas. This role ensures safe, clean, and fully operational building environments through routine maintenance, inspections, vendor coordination, and general facilities services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Understanding of HVAC and cooling systems.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills desirable.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Understanding of workplace safety practices.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and assist with moving heavy furniture and equipment exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders.
  • Must possess reliable transportation, a valid California driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years HVAC experience desirable.
  • Type II or Universal HVAC EPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine building and infrastructure inspections (“rounds”).
  • Respond to alerts and abnormal equipment operating conditions.
  • Perform general facilities maintenance and repairs including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC, and painting.
  • Follow electrical safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Maintain safety-related equipment (fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, safety showers) and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Ensure eyewash stations and safety showers remain accessible and unobstructed.
  • Assist with equipment inventory and calibration activities.
  • Act as a safety partner and primary fire watch.
  • Assist with conference room setup and takedown.
  • Support equipment and furniture moves, office reconfigurations, and workstation setup for new hires.
  • Check and maintain paper and toner levels; troubleshoot photocopier issues.
  • Maintain supply closets and storage areas.
  • Access and organize on-site and off-site storage.
  • Order, unload, and stock general and janitorial supplies.
  • Order and maintain kitchen supplies, soda, coffee, and vending machines.
  • Coordinate with janitorial maintenance vendors.
  • Assist with shipment and mail distribution.
  • Provide back-up support to Shipping & Receiving.
  • Run miscellaneous company errands as needed.
