Facilities and Maintenance Assistant - Part Time
About The Position
This is a part-time, non-exempt position whose principal responsibility is to perform a variety of skilled and unskilled tasks in the cleaning and maintenance of the Library building and grounds to support the delivery of service to Library patrons. We are seeking an individual who is enthusiastic about community service, possesses excellent communication skills and enjoys working actively on a team. Requirements
- Knowledge, skill, and ability in performance of standard custodial tasks.
- Working knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do minor repairs.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patrons and staff.
- Ability to independently exercise judgment within established library policy.
- Ability to deal calmly and effectively with a wide range of individuals, in some instances under stressful or emergency conditions.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks and responsibilities to utilize time most efficiently and effectively.
- High School diploma (or equivalent), required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in janitorial, general maintenance, or related fields, preferred.
