About The Position

Maintain and repair physical plant (indoor and outdoor to include buildings, vehicles, and grounds) under the direction of Facilities Manager. This role establishes and maintains communication between Administration and Program Staff, submits accurate maintenance requests, and conducts weekly inspections of the organization’s buildings, grounds, and vehicles. The technician is responsible for reporting work hazards, developing and maintaining positive relationships with authorities to ensure code compliance, and prioritizing/monitoring maintenance requests daily. Responsibilities include installing/repairing mechanical, motor, lighting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and appliances, as well as maintaining swimming pool water and chemical levels, and ensuring vehicles meet maintenance and safety standards. The role also involves maintaining the master key set, grounds upkeep, operating machinery, assisting with furniture delivery and moving, unloading and storing supplies, and performing fleet-related duties such as vehicle servicing and cleaning. An on-call rotation schedule is required, along with other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certification.
Valid Texas Driver’s License, good driving record, ability to provide own transportation and proof of current automobile insurance.
Age minimum of 21 years of age per licensing standards.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions.
Must have fine vision, sustained vision, and peripheral vision.
Dexterity to remain calm and adapt to fast paced and emotional environments consisting of children with moderate to severe emotional and psychological needs.
Moderate to heavy lifting up to 75 pounds unassisted and up to 120 pounds or more with assistance.

Nice To Haves

6 Months apprenticeship or education in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or related field.
2+ years maintenance.
CPR/First Aid Certification; course and certification provided by employer.
OSHA 10 Hour Training Course provided by employer.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain communication between Administration and Program Staff.
Submit accurate open and closed maintenance requests promptly.
Conduct weekly inspections of organization’s buildings, grounds, and vehicles.
Report any work hazards.
Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with State/City/County authorities to ensure organization’s buildings, vehicles, and grounds meet code regulations.
Prioritize and monitor maintenance requests daily.
Install/repair mechanical, motor, lighting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and appliances.
Maintain swimming pool water and chemical levels.
Maintain and ensure organization’s vehicles meet maintenance and safety standards.
Maintain master key set and control for organization’s buildings and vehicles.
Responsible grounds upkeep.
Operate machinery as required.
Assist with delivery and moving of furniture.
Assist with unloading and storing of supplies.
Assist with Fleet related duties such as moving vehicles to designated location, servicing, and cleaning.
Ability to work an on-call rotation schedule.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
