About The Position

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is seeking a Facilitator to support its 20 Clubs Executive Networking Groups. These peer-to-peer groups provide owners and CEOs of home building and remodeling firms with a confidential forum to exchange best practices, examine business performance, address common challenges, and share systems and solutions that help them operate their businesses more effectively. The 20 Clubs Facilitator will lead and support up to ten (10) networking groups and travel to approximately twenty (20) multi-day meetings annually. Working in partnership with club leadership, the Facilitator will guide productive discussions, promote meaningful member engagement, and help clubs operate in accordance with established program policies and procedures. The Facilitator will also serve as NAHB’s primary on-site representative, coordinating with the 20 Clubs meeting-planning staff and serving as the liaison among members, hotels, restaurants, transportation providers, speakers, sponsors, and other meeting partners. The successful candidate will be a confident and diplomatic group leader who can establish credibility with business owners and senior executives, facilitate candid and confidential conversations, navigate complex group dynamics, and provide a consistently high level of service.

Requirements

Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including approximately 20 multi-day meetings annually, and work evenings and weekends as required by meeting schedules.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, association management, organizational development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience.
Four (4) to six (6) years of experience in member services, committee or volunteer management, program management, meeting management, business consulting, executive coaching, or a related capacity.
Demonstrated experience facilitating and supporting meetings involving senior executives, members, committees, boards, or volunteer leaders.
Demonstrated ability to guide productive discussions, encourage balanced participation, manage differing viewpoints, and navigate challenging interpersonal or group dynamics.
Excellent judgment, discretion, and communication skills, with the ability to protect confidential and sensitive information and remain neutral, calm, tactful, and solution-oriented when addressing sensitive subjects, conflicts, or unexpected meeting issues.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage a substantial workload and competing priorities, meet firm deadlines, and maintain accuracy and quality standards.
Strong organizational, relationship-management, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to learn, apply, and clearly communicate program policies, procedures, and established processes while collaborating effectively with members, volunteer leaders, speakers, vendors, and internal staff in a professional, member-focused environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and other standard business technology.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a membership, trade, or professional association.
Experience facilitating an executive peer group, business-owner forum, leadership retreat, strategic-planning session, committee, or similar professional group.
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, fundamental management practices, business systems, construction processes, design principles, and marketing practices relevant to residential builders and remodelers.
Experience coordinating multi-day meetings, speakers, group dinners, transportation, and other meeting-related services.
Familiarity with association governance, volunteer leadership structures, and member-driven programs.

Responsibilities

Facilitate assigned 20 Club meetings in partnership with club chairs, hosts, and volunteer leaders, ensuring productive discussions and adherence to established agendas, policies, procedures, and program requirements.
Guide peer-to-peer discussions among business owners and senior executives while maintaining neutrality, confidentiality, professionalism, and appropriate boundaries.
Partner with club leadership to develop meeting agendas that address member business needs and create opportunities for education, benchmarking, strategic discussion, and peer exchange.
Coordinate meeting preparation and follow-up, including agendas, minutes, action items, management reports, billing, and other required documentation while managing multiple clubs and overlapping meeting and travel schedule.
Oversee on-site meeting logistics in coordination with NAHB meeting-planning staff, including hotels, restaurants, transportation, speakers, sponsors, audiovisual needs, meeting-room setup, and meal functions.
Coordinate group dinners and speakers, including venue selection, reservations, scheduling, requirements, agreements, accommodations, and on-site support in accordance with NAHB policies and procedures.
Respond to meeting-related issues and changing circumstances, using sound judgment to address last-minute changes, service concerns, schedule disruptions, and member or vendor concerns and escalating significant matters when appropriate.
Serve as a resource and representative of NAHB by sharing relevant best practices, communicating NAHB programs and policies, and connecting members with appropriate resources, subject-matter experts, and industry contacts.
Support program integrity and member relationships by maintaining confidentiality, remaining alert to potential antitrust concerns, addressing participation or policy issues appropriately, and maintaining strong relationships with members, volunteer leaders, vendors, speakers, sponsors, and internal partners.
Contribute to program and team initiatives through team meetings, program planning, continuous-improvement efforts, and other related duties as assigned.
