Face to Face Interpreter – Mandarin / Cantonese
About The Position
Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, is seeking Mandarin, Cantonese, and/or Chinese Interpreters for face-to-face interpretation assignments. As a contractor, you will use your language skills to assist individuals during medical, social service, and other types of appointments. This role offers a flexible schedule with good pay and is a rewarding way to utilize your bilingual abilities to help those in need. Assignments are available 24/7/365, though most are requested during business hours. You can choose to take as many or as few assignments as your schedule allows.
Requirements
- Located in the Central Ohio area.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check (fingerprint-based).
- Pass a 10-panel drug screening.
- Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy", Court Interpretation, Certificate or Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
- Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
Nice To Haves
- No previous professional interpretation experience is required.
- English as a second language (ESL) speakers are welcome.
Responsibilities
- Provide face-to-face interpretation services for medical, social service, and other appointments.
- Utilize Mandarin, Cantonese, and/or Chinese language skills to facilitate communication between clients and service providers.
- Manage your own schedule and select assignments based on availability.
