About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, is seeking a Swahili Language Interpreter to provide face-to-face interpretation services. This role is ideal for individuals looking for a flexible schedule and good pay, allowing them to utilize their bilingual skills to assist individuals during medical, social service, and other appointments. As a contractor, you have the freedom to choose your own schedule, with assignments available 24/7/365, though most are requested during business hours. This is a rewarding opportunity to earn money while helping those in need.

Requirements

Located in the Central Ohio area.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Eligible to work in the United States.
Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check (fingerprints) and a 10-panel drug screening.
Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access Academy, Court Interpretation, Certificate or Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation.

Nice To Haves

No previous professional interpretation experience required.
English as a second language (ESL) speakers are welcome.

Responsibilities

Provide face-to-face interpretation services using Swahili and English.
