About The Position

RJC is seeking a Facade Engineering Leader to establish, grow, and lead our façade engineering practice in the United States. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an entrepreneurial, market-facing professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen and a builder’s mindset. The successful candidate will help shape a legacy of progress and possibilities by building a practice that listens closely to clients, leads with insight, and delivers high-performing solutions that last. Accountable for the vision, growth strategy, client development, project delivery excellence, team building, and financial performance of the U.S. façade practice, this leader will play a defining role in expanding RJC’s impact in the market. This position reports to RJC’s President of US Operations who is based out of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and scale a professional services practice or business unit in a growth environment.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset, with the judgment, initiative, and resilience required to establish a new service offering in a competitive market.
  • Proven P&L leadership, including budgeting, forecasting, pricing, backlog management, and profitability improvement.
  • Deep expertise in façade systems, building enclosure performance, materials, constructability, and relevant U.S. codes and standards.
  • Strong client development skills and an existing professional network within the U.S. building industry, with the ability to build trust through human connection and responsive service.
  • Ability to translate technical expertise and creativity into practical, commercially successful solutions for clients and project teams.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, inspire teams, and lead with clarity and accountability.
  • Collaborative leader with a passion for mentoring others, building culture, strengthening teams, and working across disciplines and geographies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Science, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in a U.S. jurisdiction required; ability to obtain licensure in additional states is strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in façade engineering, building enclosure consulting, or a closely related field, including senior leadership responsibility.
  • Track record of leading major façade or building enclosure projects for complex buildings across sectors such as commercial, residential, mixed-use, institutional, hospitality, or civic.
  • Demonstrated success in winning work, developing client relationships, and leading teams to deliver profitable outcomes.
  • Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing technical professionals in a consulting environment.
  • Working knowledge of relevant analysis, modelling, and design tools used in façade and enclosure engineering practice.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within North America and collaborate with RJC colleagues as required.

Responsibilities

  • Launch and Lead the U.S. Practice: Define and execute the business plan for RJC’s U.S. façade engineering offering, including market positioning, target clients, service mix, revenue goals, and growth priorities.
  • Own Income Statement Performance: Lead the practice as a business unit with accountability for revenue generation, profitability, forecasting, utilization, fee strategy, and overall financial performance.
  • Build Trusted Relationships: Develop strong, lasting relationships with architects, developers, owners, contractors, and strategic partners by listening well, understanding client priorities, and bringing thoughtful, high-value solutions to every engagement.
  • Provide Technical Leadership: Lead and oversee façade engineering services across the project lifecycle, applying deep expertise, sound judgment, and creativity to deliver practical, high-performing solutions.
  • Build and Mentor Teams: Build and mentor a high-performing U.S. team while fostering a culture grounded in teamwork, shared accountability, human connection, and collaboration across RJC’s broader technical community.
  • Deliver Excellent Projects: Ensure high-quality, profitable project delivery with strong quality management, risk management, client communication, and schedule and budget performance.
  • Strengthen RJC’s Market Presence: Represent RJC through thought leadership, speaking engagements, conferences, professional organizations, and client-facing technical leadership.
  • Shape Service Innovation: Help expand RJC’s façade engineering capabilities by identifying market needs, encouraging creativity, and developing complementary services that support long-term growth in the U.S.
