About The Position

This role involves operating various fabrication machines, including but not limited to Break, Plasma, Punch Press, Saw, Shear Operations, laser, and folding machines. The fabricator will set up and operate thermal cutting machines, power presses, mechanical saws, and power shears to shape metal components according to blueprints and specifications. This position requires the ability to work rapidly under time pressure to meet build requirements and involves performing machine set-ups, calibration, and inspection documentation.

Requirements

Ability to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly.
Ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements.
Ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
1-3 years applicable experience.
High School Diploma/Equivalent

Nice To Haves

Experience operating fabrication equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Operate fabrication equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Operate a variety of CNC machines.
Lay out or detail layout on work stock from blueprints or templates to determine dimensions, tolerances, cutting/forming speed & feed rate, and correct position of table stops and guides.
Perform machine set up and load in & out proper tooling.
Assemble, install, and align machine tooling according to specifications.
Position work piece in proper location against fixture or stops on machine bed or on die.
Start machine and observe operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
Set stops on machine bed and perform regular calibration as necessary.
Verify dimensions of work piece and complete inspection documentation.
Perform overtime work as required.
