Design, weld and fabricate new and existing equipment, parts and tools. This role involves maintaining all welding and fabrication equipment and supplies, building and designing equipment based on orders, and utilizing welding and other fabrication equipment. The position also requires maintaining testing requirements, keeping up-to-date with necessary training, and possessing knowledge of the Simmons Hot Works Program. The Fabricator participates as a member of the team, contributing to the development and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies, and fostering cohesiveness. They must be familiar with Simmons' operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understand their role in supporting these systems, including communicating concerns and improvement ideas. The role also includes performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives, and it is not intended to limit the scope of activities or creativity. The position requires working on feet the entire shift, with lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, and working in extreme heat or cold, with the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds. Required personal protective equipment includes hearing protection, eye protection, and leather gloves.
