About The Position

We are looking for a motivated, experienced welder to join our company as a Welder Fabricator. As part of our team of professional fabricators, you construct and manufacture metal parts and products, taking particular care to produce clean, polished welds. You follow blueprints, determine material measurements, and take responsibility for fabricating parts used in later assembly processes. You are responsible for the quality of your output, so you must be able to perform simple tests to ensure weld quality and tolerance. This position works on medium & heavy duty trucks, forklifts, tractors/trailers and other small equipment. You will assist in and work independently as needed repairing and maintaining diesel trucks, power equipment, and other mechanical equipment. You will fabricate and manufacture metal parts for later assembly, follow blueprints to ensure exact specifications of output, produce strong, clean welds, and test output to ensure strength and tolerance of welds. You will use Plasma and Oxy Acetylene torch, and Mig Weld Steel. You will also be responsible for general equipment troubleshooting and maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions and performing repairs, and maintaining a safe, clean, productive and efficient work area. You will conduct all maintenance while remaining in compliance with all relevant Federal, State, local, and company guidelines and requirements. You may assist with road calls/repairs as necessary and record time spent, parts used and repairs and/or maintenance conducted in a computer system as required by departmental/company policy.

Requirements

  • Prior experience welding, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals
  • Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment
  • Blueprint reading and knowledge of common welding symbols
  • 2 years of experience as a diesel engine/heavy truck Welded/Fabricator
  • Must be safety minded
  • Must work well with others as well as independently
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently throughout an 8 hour work day
  • Ability to drive on company business and be MVR approved
  • 100% standing, bending and stooping
  • Applicants must be physically fit and be able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry 70 lbs.
  • Pre-employment drug screening required (Safety Sensitive Position)
  • Must have fleet truck experience
  • Welding test required for employment

Nice To Haves

  • Some Diesel Mechanic Experience is helpful
  • Will consider education equivalent or combination of both
