As a Fabricator II, they will lay out and assemble flat and formed plate components using drawings supplied from engineering with minimal assistance from a Fabricator. Tack welding will be required to join parts as part of the assembly. They will set up fabrication components, lay out and grind parts as necessary to develop shape. Assist as needed in the forming of raw plate. This role requires proficiency in blueprint reading (excluding geometric tolerancing) and the ability to assemble complex components like runners, distributor assemblies, shaft to runner installations, Kaplan turbine assemblies, and pump assemblies with some direction. The Fabricator II will also be competent in setting up work cells, performing hot and cold forming operations, generating and implementing Lean continuous improvement ideas, performing vent checks, and operating main cranes to make lifts up to 25 tons.
