About The Position

The Fabricator I role is an entry-level position focused on building core production skills. Employees in this classification learn to operate a limited range of fabrication equipment and develop foundational competencies with guidance from experienced Fabricators and Lead personnel. The role supports daily manufacturing needs while helping employees grow their technical abilities. Candidates are evaluated during the interview process based on their experience, demonstrated skills, and technical knowledge. Depending on this evaluation, applicants may be considered for Fabricator positions ranging from Level I through Level V. This is a union-represented position, and all classification levels, job duties, and pay ranges are established and governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Any candidate hired into this role will become a member of the bargaining unit and will be subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the contract.

  • Operation Monitoring: Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Machine Operation: Possesses general knowledge for operating machines and equipment.
  • Teamwork: Ability to build and sustain cooperative working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Blueprint reading, bend press operation experience, and fiber laser knowledge are all considered a plus.
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual press brake and punch press and manufacture parts according to prints and work orders.
  • Perform quality inspections to drawings and specifications per procedures using various equipment such as calipers, micrometers and tape measures.
  • Package finished products in cartons, applying labels, and palletizing finished goods.
  • Gather and stage work.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Communicate with department leadership regarding issues and improvements.
  • Other miscellaneous duties may be assigned, if and when needed/applicable.
