About The Position

As a Fabrication Zone Leader, you’ll be part of our Fabrication team located in Willard, Ohio. You’ll get to supervise production activities at the Hang line, Weld Cells, and other work areas. You will coordinate schedules and manpower assignments to meet production requirements. You will communicate with the Paint and Assembly Departments to monitor WIP Levels and to ensure the correct parts and correct numbers of parts are sent to the Paint and Assembly Departments. You will also communicate with the Press Room and Materials Department to ensure the correct parts and correct numbers of parts are available for current production needs and changeovers. You will understand the safe operation of Weld Cells and Hang line all support equipment & maintain Safety Standards. You will handle production personnel matters such as safety concerns, disciplinary actions, and performance appraisals. You will ensure Scrap Forms, Hour to Hour, Downtime, and Weld Wire Usage forms are completed and turned in daily. You will attend Zone Leader Training Modules, qualify operators to document Work Instructions and document training. You will maintain Quality and ISO 9000 Standards (Weld Pry Inspections, Control on Nonconforming Product, Control of Records, Document Control). You will use the 8D Process to eliminate and document Production and Quality issues. You will use 6S steps to maintain House Keeping Standards. You will ensure Fab Zone Guidelines / Disciplines (Fab 101) are being followed. You will highlight concerns and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Three years’ supervisory experience in a Welding Environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of welding and robotics
  • Trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact with people
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 Standards
  • Ability to pass Lift Truck Training and Tests to obtain Lift Truck License
  • Effective communication skills as well as good written skills.
