About The Position

The Welder joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques and various welding devices. The role interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine the appropriate welding process. This position works independently under moderate supervision, supports day-to-day team objectives, and may provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees. The position is scheduled for third shift.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience operating as a commercial welder.
Experience working with power tools.
Outstanding attention to detail.
Knowledge of warehouse site best practices and safety procedures.
Broad knowledge of operational systems and practices, typically gained through work experience or education.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Current and valid welding certification is a plus.
Vocational or technical education may be required.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, written instructions, and diagrams to perform assigned tasks.
Perform MIG, TIG, and other types of welding based on project needs.
Select appropriate fillers based on experience or project instructions.
Conserve resources to support budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
Deburr and grind metal as needed to achieve the required surface texture.
Use specialized industrial welding machinery and oversee machines performing welding work.
Monitor machinery for appropriate use and temperature.
Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Explain practices, procedures, and policies to team contacts to reach agreement.
Make minor changes to systems and processes to solve problems or improve team effectiveness; propose solutions for manager review.
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within the team.
