The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Fabrication/Welder Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Shop fabrication, working daily with Drawings and Print Packages. Modifications to Facility and production equipment, welding, rigging, site maintenance, millwright work and moving plant equipment. Troubleshooting and solving mechanical/electrical equipment problems. Work with engineering on equipment upgrades, Work with other PE groups to maintain the reliability of the plant and production equipment. Perform predictive/preventative routes, establish and maintain equipment & documentation, spare parts, and perform root cause failure analysis. Use of PC Maint Management system tools for analysis, planning & scheduling. Able to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and symbols. Must supply mechanical transcripts from school or military.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this 3M Production role, in compliance with U.S. labor and safety laws.
  • Must have courses and completion of a technical degree, diploma/certificate in mechanical craft(s) related to this trade.
  • Or a min of 540 hours of documented military school related to this trade.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule and overtime as necessary and after hour call-in.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Future certification for PIV’s, respirators and aerial lifts will be required.
  • Knowledge of welding types and procedures.
  • Successful Candidate will be required in the future to complete selected Welding Certifications.
  • Must have knowledge, experience & demonstrate proficiency with Welding Mild Steel, MIG, Welding Stainless Steel and Aluminum (TIG / Plasma).
  • Have knowledge of fabrication equipment such as: metal brake / shear, drill press, band saws, hyd press, hammer drilling, grinding and finishing work, etc.

Responsibilities
