About The Position

Allegion is a global company with over 12,000 employees across 30+ brands, specializing in safety and security solutions, particularly around doorways. Recognized with the 2024 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, Allegion is seeking a Fabrication/Warehouse Associate for its first shift. This role involves joining a small warehouse team responsible for the fabrication and material handling of hollow metal products. Key duties include light-gauge sheet metal and hollow-metal frame fabrication, operating power tools and material-handling equipment, assisting with shipping/receiving, and supporting general warehouse operations. It is a hands-on position that demands attention to quality, safety, and basic computer skills.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years experience in a fabrication or light-gauge sheet metal environment.
  • Proficient with power tools: grinder, drill, detailed sander, saws.
  • Ability to lift up to 35-50 lbs. repeatedly and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, reaching).
  • Material handling experience in a warehouse or fabrication setting.
  • Basic computer competency: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and web navigation.
  • Experience using handheld barcode/scan guns.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle complex issues and problems.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Ability to pass all required drug screen and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble hollow metal frames and other sheet metal components according to specifications and work orders.
  • Weld light-gauge materials (14 ga – 18 ga) and perform related metalwork tasks.
  • Set up and operate power tools safely, including grinders, drills, detailed sanders, and saws.
  • Read and follow drawings, cut lists, and fabrication instructions; perform quality checks and minor adjustments as needed.
  • Perform material handling duties: unload/load shipments, stage materials for production, move finished product, and maintain organized work areas.
  • Enter basic production and inventory data into computer systems (Outlook, Excel, web-based tools) and keep accurate documentation.
