About The Position

The Fabrication Technician position must complete responsibilities delegated by the Fabrication & Rental manager/Foremen that include the fabrication of Skids and Maintenance of Rental boilers and related accessories. This effort involves regular contact with both internal and external parties. Our expectation is for the Fabrication Technician to be performing pressure vessel repairs, general repair of boilers, welding, pipe fitting, and other Skid buildout processes. Additionally, the Fabrication Technician will keep the scheduler of the work informed of daily work progress, maintain work areas and equipment clean and organized. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • One year of related experience in similar industry
  • Welding & Pipefitting experience
  • Certified in the 6G welding position
  • Ability to be certified as an employee of our company
  • Understanding of the design and construction of boilers
  • Capable of reading and understanding mechanical drawings
  • Capable of pipe fitting to ASME, state and local codes
  • Ability to evaluate basic boiler room systems (steam and hydronic)
  • Detail oriented in completing work orders, all required forms, summaries, and checklist daily or as required in procedures manual
  • Strong language skills as well as industry specific vocabulary
  • Basic mathematics, algebra, and formula knowledge
  • Very strong reasoning and problem solving skills
  • A valid driver's license
  • Must be insurable with no major infractions
  • Must be a team player
  • Must have the ability to provide some ASME boiler code application support as needed on the various boilers
  • Must display a willingness to learn, and to expand in the position
  • Must be very detailed in paperwork
  • Must have some computer skills

Responsibilities

  • High quality build out and repairs of Skid Projects and the repair/installation of Boiler accessories and repairs
  • Opening and inspection of boilers
  • Cleaning of the fire and watersides
  • Installing new gaskets
  • Performing refractory repairs and replacement
  • Reading and understanding mechanical drawings
  • Making modifications to the equipment per mechanical drawings
  • Pipe fitting to ASME, state and local codes
  • Evaluating basic boiler room systems (steam and hydronic)
  • Gathering information and helping solve problems
  • Completing work orders, all required forms, summaries, and checklist daily or as required in procedures manual
  • Providing some ASME boiler code application support as needed on the various boilers
  • Providing computer support as needed
