Prism Maritime is seeking Fabrication Technicians at Levels I, II, and III to join their team in Chesapeake, VA. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The Fabrication Technician role involves various tasks related to metal preparation, shaping, and assembly, requiring a range of skills from basic tool usage to advanced blueprint interpretation and machine operation. Depending on the level, technicians will work with common hand tools, measuring devices, and blueprints, with increasing autonomy and responsibility as the level increases. Specific duties include transporting materials, standing fire watch, painting, blasting, operating cutting, bending, and rolling machines, and assisting with metal preparation for welding. Technicians may also be required to operate specialized equipment such as saws, ironworkers, press brakes, blasting cabinets, forklifts, drill presses, overhead cranes, and oxyfuel torches. Overtime and potential second shift work may be required. The company is a premier maritime service provider for Alteration Installation Team (AIT) and Modernization related Services in support of US Maritime and Shore-based clients.
