About The Position

The Fabrication Tech performs lay-up of metal bond and composite materials in accordance with customer and company specifications and requirements. The position follows company policies and uses proper personal protective equipment. It has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (ITAR requirement).
Be able to wear proper personal protective equipment.
Have strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
Be able to accurately read shop traveler instructions.
Have mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and work orders.
Be able to safely use hand tools.
Be able to lift up to 30 pounds with assistance.
Be able to identify proper materials and supplies according to specifications.
Be a team player with a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Be able to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations with management and coworkers, listen without interrupting, and get clarification when needed.
Exhibit dependability, including following instructions, responding to supervisor direction, and taking responsibility for one’s actions.
Be able to follow priorities, plan work activities, use time efficiently, and work within deadlines.

Responsibilities

Apply adhesive to metal detail parts and assemble parts.
Lay up composite fiberglass parts according to engineering specifications and work orders.
Visually inspect parts for foreign object damage (F.O.D.) before bagging.
Vacuum bag parts and ensure there are no leaks in the bag.
Clean and prepare bond tools as needed.
Unbag and unmold parts as needed.
Record job information in the ERP system.
Document travelers, process logs, recorder charts, and tank information properly.
Maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment.
Inspect work pieces for defects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
