About The Position

Fabrication Tech 1 – Operator is responsible for operating production machinery in the fabrication department. Fabrication Tech 1 - operator may operate a tumbler, welder, washer and/or notching.

Requirements

H.S. diploma or GED
1-3 years of manufacturing experience
Basic problem-solving and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Written and verbal communication skills
Able to multi-task
Able to utilize Micrometers, Calibers, Drop Gage and Dial Indicators
Able to read and following instructions outlined in production documents
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, personnel policies, graphs and other production documents.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior leaders, departmental managers and directors.
Regularly required to stand, sit and walk.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Occasionally required to stoop, reach overhead, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading computer screens and small print.

Responsibilities

Inspects in-process fabricated parts.
Operates tumbler, welder, washer and notching stations.
Inserts magazine tube or tubes into machine and perform welding, washing, notching and tumbling applications.
Must meet productivity and waste standards.
Performs visual inspection of welded components for defects and cosmetic issues.
Maintains workflow with no or minimum interruptions.
Responsible for cleanliness and orderliness of work environment.
Promotes teamwork and willingness to help others.
Commits to quality and accuracy of work performed.
Responsible for following established safety procedures.
