About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking Fabrication Specialists to join the Fabrication team in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels, including Entry-Level and Associate Fabrication Specialists. The selected candidate for this position will be responsible for setting up machines, performing machining and fabrication tasks, and creating test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices for various tests. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex components and systems based on established drawings and requirements, as well as collaborating with NC Programming, Quality, and Engineering teams to establish best practices for machining operations.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications
  • 1+ years of experience with CNC machining in a production environment
  • Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, kneeling and lifting

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC operation
  • 1+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • 3+ years of experience using basic math (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
  • 3+ years of experience in a role that required strong attention to details

Responsibilities

  • Set up CNC machines by loading tools, fixtures, and materials according to job specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to understand machining requirements
  • Operate CNC machines to perform milling, turning, drilling, or grinding operations
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations and make necessary adjustments
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify conformance to specifications
  • Document production data, machine settings, and quality checks accurately
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Collaborate with engineers, quality control, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or quality concerns to supervisors promptly
